Family - The Eagles

Seriously, I LOVE family shoots. I get to be surrounded by love and watch them interact with each other. And let's just be honest - I always get to shoot beautiful families.

Lisa and her boys are no exception! It was absolutely freezing when we got together at Bothell Landing, but these three were troopers - Calvin even ran around in between shots to keep himself toasty. Thanks for braving the cold, and I hope the hot chocolates afterwards were just what you needed to warm up :)

Family - The Ellermeiers

The Ellermeiers are taking over Holson Photography! I was able to shoot my good friend Anna & Chad Ellermeier last June, and just a couple of weeks ago, I got to shoot Todd & Tricia and their handsome boy. So I have shot the East Coast Ellermeiers (Anna & Chad), and the West Coast Ellermeiers (Todd & Tricia). Now, I just need to get the Midwest Ellermeiers (Stacia and her fam. BTW, Stacia does AMAZING custom printing. Check her out at Print Girl Ink)

Anyway, I was on maternity leave since having my sweet boy, Hendrix (more to come on him later), when Tricia asked if she could get in a quick family shoot. To be completely honest, I was going stir crazy and really missed shooting. So I immediately said yes! I loved every second that we had together - this family is so much fun :)

Brady & Carlee - Engaged! (Part 1!)

I'd like to introduce you to two beautiful people: Brady & Carlee. Or, as I like to call them - BB and Double E. I first met Carlee when she was a wee lass, but we because friends when we were both in youth choir together. In those days, there were a boatload of Carley/Carlye/Carlie/Karly/Carlees in my life. I had to figure out a way to differentiate between all of them. Thus, Double E was born.

Carlee is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, with a voice that will blow you away. Brady is a Montana boy, and the oldest of eight children (and there's only one girl in there). They met in college, in their orientation group (awwww!!!). When you are around Brady & Carlee, you can't help but feel the love, and fall more in love with your significant other.

Jeremy and I will be shooting BB & Double E's wedding in May 2012, and we'll be doing a full Engagement shoot later this winter/early spring. Keep your eyes open for their future sessions!

Dave & Lindsey Moll - Wedding Photo Booth

Lindsey was one of my youth leaders when I was in junior high and high school. Lindsey has been such an influence in my life for 15+ years! We've been on many choir tours and Fine Arts Festival trips together, more Javanilla Shakes than I can count, and lots of great memories.

Family - The Fredricksons

I met the Fredricksons through the Bothell High School auction. I was definitely looking forward to shooting this family, especially after Kerri (mom) told me that there would be four generations there! Her grandpa, her parents, Todd's parents, Todd & Kerri and their babes (who are in college and high school. You know, when my baby is in college, I'll still call him my baby. And it will probably embarrass him. It's my right as a mommy though, right?).

I had such a great time with the entire Fredrickson family! Seeing four generations all together is such an amazing testament to the love that they all share. Thanks for meeting up with me!

Jake - Senior Portraits

Every year, I donate at least one session to local schools for their auction. I'm always excited to meet the recipient, and we always manage to have a great time with our shoot. Jake is a senior at Cedar Park Christian, and is involved in just about everything - basketball, drama, ASB, etc. The day we got together was toasty and super humid, but Jake was a rock star - even in those sweaters! I always look forward to my family sessions, especially families that I've shot before. I love seeing how much the babies change. You can revisit the Milton's last family shoot and look at just how much little man Nehemiah has grown over the last two years. it was a cold and wet day when we got together, but totally worth the damp jeans and puddle dodging to get some great pictures with this wonderful family!

Zach & Katie - Trash the Dress

my sweet friends Katie & Zach got married in July, in an absolutely beautiful ceremony. After their honeymoon, we got together for a fun "Trash the Dress" session. Trash the Dress is basically just a chance to wear your dress again, and take pictures in another location. A lot of my friends call these "Rock the Dress" sessions, since most of the time you don't actually trash it. When we first started talking about the shoot, Katie wasn't too sure that she wanted to trash her dress. But when we climbed in the car, she said she was up for anything...even getting in the water at Golden Gardens! FYI - i didn't make her get in the water.

A few months ago, I thought it would be fun to get together with Gaby Jones and take some pictures. For no reason, other than I wanted to play with my camera. She invited her gorgeous friend Natassia, I invited my gorgeous friend Emilie and my husband, and we ventured down to Pioneer Square in Seattle. While there, we got yelled at by some of the Square's inhabitants, saw sweatered trees, and enjoyed a beautiful Saturday in Seattle.

And since we were down there, we had to finish the day at Top Pot Doughnuts :)

Ashley & Mike - Pay It Forward

In February, I had a Pay-It-Forward session with Brea Bursch of CYE Photography. One of the "rules" of the PIF was to pay it forward to another photographer.

I immediately thought of my friend Ashley Fuentes for my PIF! Ashley and I have known each other since first grade or something ridiculous like that. We recently reconnected over Facebook, and found out that we're both into photography. Who better to shoot? Ashley is used to being behind the camera, so she was a little nervous - but she totally rocked it. She knew what she wanted and she and Mike were perfect :)

I'm so glad we were able to (FINALLY!!!) get together, and that the weather (FINALLY!!!) cooperated :) You're amazing Ashley and I can't wait to see what you do next :)

Shut up...They're married. And having the time of their lives in Europe.

You might remember Ashley and Cleve from their Engagement Shoot back in August. Ashley and Cleve are the first couple that I will be shooting from start to finish - engagement, rehearsal dinner, wedding, trash the dress...maybe even a bambino in the future? (I'm not announcing anything...just wishful thinking :) ).

Ashley and Cleve are also the last wedding for me until after my baby comes. What a great wedding to end with. Their wedding was at Urban Light Studios, wonderful food from Lake Street Catering, Cupcakes by New York Cupcakes, and incredible coordinating by Sheena of The Invisible Hostess. Thanks for choosing us to be a part of your special day guys!

Oh my word, my little Mittens Romney is getting married! Matt's sister, Sarah, is one of my best friends, and I've had the privilege of knowing Matt for pretty much his entire life. I'm so happy that he's found Mariesa, someone that is going to laugh, pursue God, and grow old with him.

I'm also thrilled that the weather held up for us yesterday! Fall in Washington is gorgeous, but the weather is always so chancy, making outdoor shoots a total gamble. But we made it happen, and y'all were amazing!

Loren & Jessica - Engaged!

I've only known Loren and Jessica for a little over a year, but they've quickly become great friends of ours. Loren came to Cedar Park Northshore to lead the children's ministry. Jessica has been helping out regularly, and was just recently named as the Children's Pastor. These two and their team have been doing an amazing job!

Jeremy and I had such a fun day with Loren & Jess. We started out in downtown Snohomish, then worked our way to Craven Farm, a pumpkin patch in the Snohomish Valley. The sun did everything I wanted it to, Loren & Jessica are beautiful together, and we ended the shoot with Mexican food. Could the day have been any better?

P.S. I'm pretty sure Mom & Dad Weaver have supermodel children. Jessica and John Michael Weaver are siblings, and I've been lucky enough to shoot both of them!

Rachel and Jordan got married on August 20 at the Manor in Everett. My best friend Tiffany got married there three years ago, so I knew I was going to love the venue. It was a perfect evening, and the lighting was beautiful.

Rachel was one of my students while I was a leader at Cedar Park. It's been really fun to watch her grow and become the incredible woman that she is today. Rachel and Jordan, you are hilarious! Jeremy and I absolutely loved shooting your wedding. Congratulations!!

Kami & Michael - 1 Year (and 3 months) Later

I was lucky enough to shoot Kami & Michael about a year and a half ago for their engagement pictures. They were actually my first engagement session. They're also two of the most gorgeous people I know :)

Kami and Michael live in Montana now, but came out to Kirkland for a conference. I'm so glad we were able to get together for a quick shoot. We love you guys to bits!

Meghan Shipley is a Senior!

Okay...I babysat this kid when she was just itsy bitsy. I can't even BELIEVE that she is a senior this year.

We happened to schedule our shoot for August 15, which turned out to be insanely hot. But Meghan is such a trooper and did everything that I suggested, even in this ridonculous heat we've been experiencing. At the end of our session, we jumped off of one of the docks in Kirkland, just to cool off :)

Ashley & Cleve - Engaged!

Jeremy and I had a great time shooting Ashley and Cleve. We started at Daniel's (Thank you Daniel's!!!), moved on to Bellevue Park (where a super cute little boy named Emory let us borrow his balloons), and ended at Chism Beach Park. Well, actually we ended back at their place to enjoy some vegan stuffed mushrooms (delicious!), a confused playlist (Bloc Party, Christina Aguilera & Meiko...), and the Redneck Game of Life (Jeremy kicked all of our butts...but Cleve did end up with 20 redheaded step-children named Darrell!). Such a fun night! And I'm REALLY excited to shoot your wedding in April!

Ryan & Emily - HITCHED!

I'm going to be completely honest with everyone: This was my first wedding as the first shooter. I've taken pictures for the weddings of some of my other friends, but never as the primary photographer. And, I'm not going to lie, when Emily asked me to do her wedding, I said no a few times. Finally, I just faced my fears and said yes! Jeremy was in the wedding, so he wasn't able to shoot with me, but his mom came along with us and was my assistant for the day (thanks Tanga!). Aside from my mini meltdown the night before, this was a GREAT experience. It's always good to have the first wedding (really, the first of any kind of shoot) under your belt. It makes it easier to say yes to others that ask me to shoot their special day.

Ryan and Emily, I love you guys. I really, really do. I don't think I've ever cried so much at any wedding I've been to! Which made it really tough to see through the viewfinder :) Your love for each other is incredibly contagious and you fill the room with so much joy.

Chad and Anna just graduated from Northwestern, and happened to get married the same day (May 20). Efficiency at its finest! They are both MDs, and will be moving on to do their residency. I really enjoyed spending the day with Anna & Chad, as their joy is contagious and love for each other shines through them.

I have known Anna since our Kirkland Junior High days (Holy Cow!!!!). It was great to catch up with her and reminisce on our teens. As we were wrapping up the session, she said "I'm so glad I Facebook stalked you!" Me too!!

Mama's Day

Here's the story behind this shoot:

My mom is turning 50 on May 16. My aunt Angie has been planning a surprise party for my mom since February, and she did an incredible job with everything. She was able to get a bunch of their family and friends to come from all over the country for mama's celebration. I can't begin tell you how hard it was to keep this secret from her and to have to lie to her...but we did it!

To make sure that they had enough time to get everything prepped, I offered to take mom, her best friend Ree (who flew in from Michigan!) and my dad to Bothell Landing for a mini session, as part of her Mother's Day present. It worked perfectly! (Also, this was IMMEDIATELY after my session with Gabrielle...LONG DAY)

Plus, my mom was completely surprised to walk in and see her house full of people she absolutely loves.

Happy birthday, happy Mother's Day and I love you!

Gabrielle Jones - Senior

Today starts the busiest weekend I've ever had! Andy and Sarah Soemo are two of my absolute favorite people in the world. I still remember meeting Sarah after they just moved out from Chicago, and knowing that she was going to be a friend for life. And after holding sleeping Carter for about an hour, I know that he is going to be a friend for life too! How could you not fall in love with him?

Ian & Trieste - ENGAGED!

Oh man, do I ever LOVE this couple!

Ian and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. I've always thought of him as one of my brothers, and when he moved to DC, I was pretty upset. But, when he found Trieste (I shall call her Tree from here on out), it was all worth it. Not that my opinion really matters, but I absolutely love her to pieces.

They flew to Seattle for a whirlwind trip in November, and that's when I finally got to meet Tree. I only got to hang out with her for about 15 minutes before they were off to their next location. It really only took two seconds for me to know that Tree is absolutely perfect for my brother Ian.

We were able to take a couple hours on New Year's day to take some shots around Seattle, and thankfully the rain stayed away until our very last shot.

Congratulations on your engagement and we're so excited for you guys!

Four Generations of LOVE

Chelsea has been a part of our youth group for around two years now. Just this last Easter, she invited me and Jeremy to Easter Dinner with her family. The chance to make new friends, and great food? YOU BET! Ever since that day, I have felt like I was a part of this family.

Diane has been wanting to do a family picture for quite some time now. The only thing is that she hates getting her picture taken. Well, I try my hardest to make sure everyone feels comfortable, looks good and has a great time.

The Ferrers

I love doing family sessions. The parents are incredible, the children are amazing and it's just so much fun to get to hang out with the family as a whole.

When I woke up last Sunday, it was raining and I was so frustrated! It seemed like it was the first day of rain all summer long. But, the rain and clouds cleared away, and Sean, Nicole, Max and I had a beautiful day in Seattle. We started at Kerry Park, which apparently was the hot spot of the day (while I was there, at least 3 tour busses stopped for pictures). We crawled around in the grass, climbed on the wall and the sculpture and enjoyed the view of the city.

Next we headed down to the EMP to enjoy the beautiful colors of the building. There's a purple-ish wall on one side of the building that is absolutely gorgeous and a great backdrop for pictures. The whole building is pretty incredible. You should definitely check it out sometime.

Jeremy and I woke up super early this morning and drove down to Tacoma to do a session with the Miltons: Matt, Jeani & Nehemiah. Let me just tell you: One look at Nehemiah, and you will be hooked! He has the most amazing blue eyes and is a total flirt!

I have known B-Dub for as long as I can remember. He and my brothers were basically inseparable growing up, and he's just always been a great friend to me. I met Jolie in 2002 when she came up to Kirkland to go to Northwest University. She started helping at my church, and a little love connection was made between her and Bryan. And in May 2006, they got married!

I got to spend a wonderful evening with them at the beginning of the month, and it started out like a usual May evening: kind of cold, but tolerable. And then, the heavens opened and the rain came down. We mate the best of the situation, and got some great images.

Let me start by saying this: I LOVE the Welk family! Actually, all Welk families. Fantastic people!

I was blessed to spend an hour or so with Aaron, Kelly, Bella and Maddie a few weeks ago to get some great family pictures. Andrea and Gary's Wedding

About five months ago, Andrea asked if I would be interested in taking fun pictures at their wedding. They had a primary photographer already, but she wanted someone who would follow her around and get the shots that he might not get. Of course I said yes! Tyler's Senior Portraits

I have been blessed to know Tyler and his family for about four years. I knew the minute I met Tyler that he was going to become one of my favorite people in the world. When his mom asked me to do his senior portraits, I was thrilled, honored and excited! The day started at their house with Tyler playing basketball in the backyard. Next we ventured down to Seattle Center and Gasworks Park to get some more fun shots. Overall, it was an amazing day. Tyler, you're incredible, and I'm so glad I know you. I wish you all the best as you move on to college. I'll miss you like crazy, but I know God is going to do some great things through you.

I have incredible parents. Really, I do. I know I've said it before, but I mean it more than ever before. These two would do anything to make sure their children (and now grandchildren) are taken care of, happy and healthy. They even make sure I have excellent hair. I am totally blessed to have been born to such amazing people. Brian and Sharon are not just Dad and Mom, they are my friends. And for that, I am grateful.

Foot Glove Love

On January 25, Refuge Youth loaded our backpacks with socks, coats, hats and scarves and headed to Seattle to pass them out. Two years ago, I was looking at my mom and dad's giant wicker basket full of perfectly good unmatched socks. Then something crazy washed over me: I had a desire to match them. Because once they were matched, they would be useful and I would be able to give them away to homeless people. I have always had a place in my heart for them, and this was a practical way to bless them. I didn't want to do this alone, so I enlisted the help of our youth ministry. Foot Glove Love was born.

This year we had fewer socks to give away, but it seemed like we were able to bless more people. The whole point of this activity was to get our students to realize that we are not the most important people in this world. Life isn't just about looking out for ourselves, but looking out for and taking care of those around us as well. If you'd like to contribute to or participate in next year's Foot Glove Love, please let me know.

Shirley Family Session

I've known the Shirley family for over 15 years now. Pastor Jason was my youth pastor in 7th & 8th grade. Over those 15 years, their family has grown in so many ways. This shoot was done on Saturday, and it started snowing as I drove over to the little park off of Woodinville-Duval Road. I prayed so hard that it wouldn't snow while we were doing the pictures, and God listened! It started coming down right as we took the final 15 pictures. Beautiful setting, beautiful family, beautiful pictures!

Senior Portraits...and Engagement Session?

Well, kinda...

Annie Carmona is one of my dearest friends and she was in need of some pictures for her website. Being one with a camera, and missing Annie, I gladly got snap happy.

The first 20 minutes or so was spent taking Annie's profile/headshot pictures. After feeling like I was doing another Senior Session, we decided it was time to throw Chris in the mix. Which ended up looking like engagement pictures. :) We had so much fun jumping, falling, log riding, train-track hopping and just enjoying each other's company. These two are completely head over heels in love with each other.

My family went down to our little hideaway in Ocean Shores for Thanksgiving. I got to take some pictures of Judah doing what he does best: having fun and getting dirty. He loved those puddles and just had a blast. He wasn't happy when we brought him back inside though.

I am for sure blessed. I got to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Seattle photographing these amazing junior high girls and some of our leaders. We went to Hidden Treasures Thrift Store for about an hour to choose some nice ensembles for the shoot. Then we headed down to Gasworks Park here in Seattle. A few wrong turns later, we were there and having a great time. So many people stopped and asked about what we were doing, they loved the outfits and thought it was just a great idea.

And why didn't I bring any business cards with me?

Jocelyn is finally here!! It was a crazy day yesterday, but I finally have a niece.

I think it was all pretty nuts for Judah too, but he's going to be a fantastic big brother. We played for a long time yesterday to give mom, dad and Joce some time to relax. I'm so glad I get to be a part of this exciting new life!!

Jocelyn Bella was born on September 11, 2008, 7lbs 12 oz, 20 inches long.

Jeremy and I were driving around Everett last night to try and find some places to do Christian's senior pictures. We found a few places, but I found the sunset to be more exciting! I took these pictures and no more than 1 minute later, the sky turned grey. I LOVE WASHINGTON!

Wallyball!!

Refuge Youth is my amazing youth group. We've been doing a lot of fun activities lately, and Wallyball was no different. Tim texted me about two hours before everyone was to meet at the church and said, "We should dress in 80's workout clothes!" Ergo, a few people did. And the result was fantastic.

I didn't feel like bringing my digital SLR to this activity, so I just brought my little Nikon point and shoot. And still managed to take over 100 pictures. I love these kids so much, and I can't wait until we go play Wallyball again!

Thank you Lynnwood Rec Center for allowing a bunch of crazy kids to rule the court for two hours!

Mo's Senior photos

I've known Michael Haines basically since he was born. Imagine how weird it is for me that he's a senior. It's absolutely bizarre. Michael didn't want "normal" senior pictures, so we tried to find the most of the wall places to take pictures. We started at Cedar and 1st, walked to the Olympic Sculpture Park, then to Pike Place and back to my car. At one point, Michael told me that his feet had given up. And my car was still at least half a mile away. We got in the car and headed to the Fremont Troll, and finally ended up at Gasworks. Beautiful day, great company and some good shots. Have so much fun being a senior!!

Kaitlyn & Mallory

Kaitlyn is my cousin and Mallory is a good friend of hers. They are both going to be seniors this year at Juanita High School, and they needed to get their head shots done for the yearbook. There were a lot of limitations, but I think we made it work pretty well. We're going to get together again later to do more creative pictures. I'm excited for those!

Thirty Years of Love

My parents have now been married for 30 years.

30 YEARS!!

This is absolutely monumental. My parents have been together longer than they have not. My mom was 16 and my dad was 21 when they met. Two years later they were married. 11 months after that my oldest brother was born. Then another. Then finally they had me. Thanks guys. I appreciate it!

And even though their marriage hasn't always been perfect or easy, they've given their three children the greatest example ever. They made a commitment to each other that only death would separate them. They worked together to do whatever necessary to make sure their family's needs were met. Mom & Dad came to plays, games, church services, pinewood derbys and choir concerts. And that was just for me. They love their children, and only want the best.

And through it all, they've made Jesus the center of their relationship. Congratulations mama & papi. I am very grateful and proud of you.

Colin & Amy's Wedding

My dear friend Amy Robertson got married! August 2, 2008, in Gig Harbor, WA. Absolutely beautiful ceremony and reception.

I left my house at 9:00am and didn't get back until well after midnight. It was totally worth it though. I was able to hang out with some of my favorite girls from college, see Amy marry the love of her life and I got to take some pictures while I was at it. I went down early with Holly, Christi & Adrian, as they were helping with hair and makeup. I did one person's hair and then went back to what I know: my camera. Here are a few images from the day.
